Why the Gruyère region for a group outing
A successful company outing mixes discovery and shared time, without an overloaded programme. The Gruyère region offers this combination in a small area: a medieval town and its castle, a cheese dairy where you watch Gruyère AOP being made, a historic chocolate factory and a mountain at 2,002 metres. Everyone finds something of interest, whether drawn to history, food or scenery.
Proximity is another advantage. Leaving Geneva in the morning and returning in the evening avoids any hotel night and makes things simpler for participants. The road runs along Lake Geneva before climbing towards the Fribourg Pre-Alps, giving the day a real change of air without a long journey. For a team based in Geneva, it is an outing that fits easily into the calendar.
A programme that brings people together
Craft visits work well in groups. At La Maison du Gruyère, the team follows the cheesemaker's work together, from raw milk to the wheels, which naturally sparks questions and conversation. At Maison Cailler, the interactive tour and the final tasting create a relaxed moment. These hands-on visits appeal to everyone, whatever the role or age of the participants.
Lunch at your leisure in the village of Gruyères gives colleagues time to sit down together, in small groups or all together depending on what the restaurants can offer. In the warmer months, the ride up Moléson adds a moment in the open air, with a panorama over the Alps and Lake Geneva on a clear day. We balance visits and free time so that the day does not feel like a race.
Adapting the day to the size and profile of the group
Every team is different. A small management committee does not have the same expectations as a whole department or a group of invited clients. The number of participants affects how visits are organised and some bookings. Give it in your request: we tell you what is possible on your chosen date and put the day together accordingly.
Interests matter as much as size. A team curious about history will spend more time at the castle, a group of food lovers will favour cheese and chocolate, and fresh air enthusiasts will aim for Moléson. The HR Giger Museum may appeal to creative profiles, but its dark world is not suitable for all audiences: we discuss it with you before including it in a group outing.
How the planning works
The process is simple. You fill in the form on the website with your preferred date, another possible date, the number of participants, the language for the day and the places that interest you. The free text field lets you explain the context: a seminar, a thank-you for the team, hosting clients or partners. This information helps us suggest a suitable itinerary.
We come back to you with a proposed itinerary, which you can adjust with us before confirming. We check the opening hours and availability of each place on the date chosen. On the day, pick-up is in Geneva at the agreed place, and the return is in the evening. You do not have to handle the logistics of the day, just enjoy it with your team.
